Week 1: Getting Real with Ourselves
The cohort of men are gathered in this study, will do a timeline of their lives with the highs and lows which is meant for them to reflect on themselves. If they feel comfortable, share with group.
Week 2: Back to the Basics
Vince Lombardi “This is a football”. Salvation, Grace, Confession, and Forgiveness. What do these look like in the life of a man? John 3:16.
Week 3: What is Sin?
What is sin? How do we own it? What does it mean to stop living a life of passivity.
Phase 2 – Blueprint for Success
Week 4: Scandalous Grace
What is the connection between God’s grace and our call to maturity as believers in Jesus Christ? What does costly grace mean? What does it look like to walk out forgiveness? Is forgiveness costly? What does that mean?
Week 5: Characteristics of a Godly Man – The Identity Issue
Time to get real with our identity. Where has shame and guilt played a part in shaping who we are? What are we afraid of? What lies have we been believing? What is our attitude toward authority? What are some things we resist regarding authority? Why? What is the threat? What is the solution? Roman 8, Galatians 3.
Week 6: Men Under Attack
What are the identity thieves that could affect your growth as a Godly man? Examples are: passivity, shame, guilt, addition, work, unforgiveness, work, insecurity.
Phase 3 – Equipping and Training
Week 7: Gods Armor
God's armor and the equipment you have available to you. Community with other men on the same mission.
Week 8: The Wilderness
A character development time in your life. You are brought to the end of yourself so that you can appreciate God's sovereignty and power. It was never about yourself. Now use the training while spiritually submitting to God. Every believer has a period in our walk where we get tested and try to figure out our calling at micro level. We listen to God and ask, “What do you want for me? What do you want me to do?” Like Job, Joseph, David, “My eyes have heard, now my eyes have seen.”
Phase 4 – Your Commissioning
Week 9: Trained, Equipped, Tested, Ready for Battle
How to be led by the Spirit. Triangulating God's voice, by God's Word, and close friends. Mile markers. Doesn’t matter where you are, there are little jobs you can do.
Week 10 - Knowing Him – The Journey of Refining
A.W. Tozer “Every man is as close to God as He wants to be.” You have to spend time with the Commander – time in the word and worshipping Him.
Week 11: Sharpening the Sword – Don’t go to War with a Butter Knife
We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are fixed on you.
Week 12: Commissioning and BBQ
Baptisms, Testimonies, Sharing, Takeaways.
